Thermal analysis is a group of techniques in which changes of physical or chemical properties of the sample are monitored against time or temperature, while the temperature of the sample is programmed.

Applications:

Thermal analysis can be used to characterize or monitor the changing properties of material such as enthalpy, phase transition, weight, dimension, thermal conductivity, visco-elastic properties. This technique can be applied for varieties of material such as polymer, plastic, rubber, ceramic, glass, metal, composite materials, and etc.
