SURFACE PROFILE ANALYZER

White-light interferometry is an optical method for measuring surface topography / profile. It is non-contact, which means that there is no risk of damaging the sample. This is in contrast to other surface profiling techniques, such as stylus profilometry, which can damage the sample if the stylus is not properly aligned.

One of the advantages of white-light interferometry is that the height resolution (Z-direction) is independent of the magnification factor of the used objective.
