Windscreen Fogging Tester

The Elastocon EB 03 Windscreen Fogging Tester is a device that determines the fogging of car windshields. It complies with ISO 6452, SAE J1756, and other automotive standards. It has an integrated heating and cooling bath, and complete accessories can be supplied to meet various automotive standards.

The fogging characteristics of all the materials used in a vehicle's interior can be tested with this device. This includes the amount of volatile components that have evaporated from textiles, leather, PVC, and other polymeric materials. Fogging primarily occurs on the front windshield because it is colder than the rest of the glass in the vehicle, causing the evaporated materials to condense in a high concentration. To ensure driving safety and clear visibility through the windshield, it is important to keep fogging to a minimum.

In addition to the international standards mentioned, several major vehicle manufacturers follow their own standards.
